In my email to my list yesterday, I got real and shared that without a clear, compelling, written vision of where you want your business to be one year from now, you’re pretty much screwed. That’s because to navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and make smart decisions along the way, you’ve got to have a compelling vision that tells you where you are headed and inspires you to do the things that must be done to get there. In other words, you need to know your WHY.

Well, today we are moving on to my next “stealth move” for being kick-ass in business.

Once you know WHAT you want your business to look like one year from now, the next question you need to ask is “Who do I need to be to turn that vision into a reality?”

No matter what goal you’ve set, what projects you need to implement, or what milestones you need to reach along the way, the single determinant as to whether you will get there is YOU.

Recently, I had a lot of time to think about this when I was out of commission for 4 weeks with asthma. The question, “Who do I need to be?” takes on a whole new meaning when you can barely talk or breathe.

So, as I often do, I took to my journal to find some answers. What follows is an excerpt from my journal that day.

I asked…“How can I show up for my team and my business when I barely even recognize myself?”

The answer… “Do what you know always works for you… lean into your daily rituals.”

I responded… “Ah, my daily rituals. It’s been quite a while since I’ve tracked that.”

The response… “Interesting. Perhaps that’s part of the reason you are where you are.”

That’s all she wrote. I needed no more. I had received a nudge from the Universe, reminding me to do the things that enable me to show up, remain happy and healthy and pretty much kick ass every day.

OK… for you to truly understand this crucial piece of the story, I need to give you a peek behind the curtain at one of the tools I’ve used for the past 8 years. I lean into it whenever I want to up my game in all areas of my life. I call it my “Daily Method of Manifestation.”

It began as an entry in my journal – a simple list of things I intended to do every day to support my health and improve my relationships. It’s since grown to encompass much more, but the basic intent remains the same… to have a way to track my daily actions that enrich my life.

When I drift from my Daily Method of Manifestation, I notice things tend to go south. When I’m on it and I track how I’m doing, I feel happier, have more energy, am more present for those I love and even attract new clients and opportunities with ease.

So, what’s the correlation between my Daily Method of Manifestation and you turning a vision into a reality? Everything. Because it’s the small actions we take every day that have a compound effect on our success.

How about you?

  • Do you have a set of daily “non-negotiables” that inspire you to up your game?
  • Do you have a morning ritual that sets the tone of your day?
  • Do you pause mid-day to reset and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit?
  • Or perhaps you have a nightly ritual that helps you wind down, reflect on your day and help you have a restful night?

If you do… you know how powerful these daily rituals can be.

If you don’t… no worries. Join the 99.9% of the planet (OK, that’s just a guess) who navigate their day with good intentions but no real way of tracking how they are doing.

So today, I am sharing a tool you can use to up your game, my Daily Method of Manifestation list.

Because this is my personal one, I’m giving it to you in an editable doc so you can change it up to reflect your own daily practice.

My only advice is this…

  • Don’t pack it with too much. You don’t need to track everything – just the stuff that isn’t automatic for you.
  • Never (and I mean never) strive to do it all in one day. That will make you crazy and you’ll end up feeling crappy.

We’re in this together.  I may be just a bit further down the path than you or a couple miles ahead, but what we have in common is that every day we have the chance to call ourselves to show up powerfully or fall prey to the crappy thoughts and bad habits that keep us from our vision.

So there you have it! My secret weapon for keeping apathy, depression and insanity at bay.

I’d LOVE to hear what you think of this strategy. Are you going to give it a try? How are you changing it up? What are you noticing as you use it?

We’ve only just begun!

Much Love,

Jane
